This dog loyalty story proved it really is man’s best friend – The video footage, was captured in Taguatinga, Brazil
The heart-warming footage shows the faithful pooch’s unfailing love for its owner, who suffered an epileptic fit in the streets of Brazil, as it follows the emergency vehicle for several minutes.
It was filmed by a paramedic bounding along the road Goiana, Brazil.
The dog’s homeless master was rushed to hospital but the dog, reluctant to leave his side, follows as the vehicle weaves through the streets.
At one stage, the dog starts to fall behind as it runs out of breath, but keeping close to the ambulance it looks up desperately at the crew, pleading for help.
Realizing the long journey to the hospital would be too much for the poor little pooch, the ambulance crew pull over and decide to let him hop on board
Paramedic Celiomar Ferreira do Couto, 42, who made the video, said the whole crew was touched by the love shown by the dog for its owner.
“I’ve been doing this job for 19 years and I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mr Couto told Extra.
“Sometimes we arrive at the scene of an emergency and there are pets around but they are too shy for us to get close to and they often run way. I have never seen this reaction in all my career.”
The crew allowed it to sit next to its owner, who slipped in and out of consciousness, all way to the hospital.
Once at the hospital, the owner, who had suffered an epileptic seizure, was placed on a stretcher as the dog sat nearby.
The affectionate pet eventually waited patiently at its owner’s bedside while he was treated.
The hospital hasn’t commented on the man’s hospital stay and whether he recovered to leave with his pet.
According to the mirror news, what happened to the pet and its owner was also not reported, but it has certainly proved the loyalty and love that exists between owners and their dogs.
