In Sarajevo, a small dog was thrown off a bridge and left to fend for herself in the pouring rain. Despite the crowds of people who passed her by, only one kind-hearted person, Diana, stopped to help. She rushed the injured pup to the nearest vet, where they discovered she had suffered a spine injury due to the fall. Weighing just 4.9 kilos, the little dog’s condition was critical, and it was uncertain whether she would ever walk again.
The vets took Lutkica, as they named her, for an x-ray and confirmed that she had injured two vertebrae due to the fall. Despite the severity of her injuries, Lutkica showed incredible resilience and survived the ordeal. After spending several days in the clinic, it was determined that she needed more specialized care, so she was transferred to a larger facility where she underwent surgery and began a long and intensive rehabilitation process.
Despite the challenges, Lutkica showed remarkable progress, and after 15 days of physical therapy, she was finally ready to be adopted. A kind-hearted woman named Zrinka Somek Mihaljević welcomed Lutkica into her home, where she continued to receive care and treatment until she was able to walk and run again.
Today, Lutkica is a shining example of hope and resilience. She’s one of the happiest dogs in the world, running and swimming with boundless joy and energy.
